* Commends Outgoing Leaders for their steadfastness to the ideals of Party’s Founding Fathers

* Charges the New Team on Strategic Preparation for 2027

By AbdulRahmam Obaje

The Dan Amanar Fune Emirate of Yobe State and President/CEO of Funab Group of Companies Ltd, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, a frontline stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has congratulated the newly elected ward, local, Senatorial and State executives of the party in Kwara State following the just-concluded congresses.

In a statement signed by his Director of Communications, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan, and made available to journalists, Ajia described the successful conduct of the congresses as a positive step toward repositioning the PDP for greater electoral success in the state.

He commended the outgoing executives for their steadfastness and loyalty to the ideals of the party’s founding fathers, despite not being in power.

According to him, Kwara State remains unique in Nigeria for standing firmly with the PDP
unlike what is witnessed in some other quarters where the loyalty of party leaders is often in doubt.

“There are questions about whether some leaders are genuinely working for the PDP or the APC. But in Kwara, our outgoing executives never compromised. They held the structure together, stayed true to our founding ideals, and kept faith with the party despite back-to-back electoral losses. This resilience deserves commendation,” Ajia said.

Turning to the new executives, led by the State Chairman Hon. Adamu Isa Bawa, Ajia charged them not to see their emergence as an opportunity for personal gains but as a call to service and strategic preparation for the 2027 general elections.

He described Hon. Adamu Bawa Issa as a trusted, calm, easy-going, and dogged party man who has remained committed to the PDP over the years.

He urged the new executives at the state, senatorial, local government, and ward levels to work collectively to analyze past setbacks and adopt deliberate strategies to reclaim power.

“As a candidate in the last general election, I saw firsthand the overwhelming support of the people for our party. So, I don’t believe Kwarans are not voting for us; rather, there are systematic approaches being used to rig us out. This is the reality we must confront and resolve. Our collective task now is to go beyond routine party politics—we must be deliberate, strategic, and united in our approach to winning back power,” Ajia stressed.

He further called on the new leadership to reach out to members who left the PDP to join third-force movements and reconcile with them, warning that such divisions can not deliver victory.

“The PDP in Kwara has been distinct. We must continue to distance ourselves from the confusion at the national level so that our people, who still have faith in us, do not become stranded and helpless. We must also broaden our political calculations to ensure that whatever we do at the state align with what will happen at the national level to ensure our people benefit from the dividends of democracy—tackling insecurity, poverty, unemployment, youth restiveness, decayed infrastructure, and poor social amenities,” he added.

Ajia also acknowledged the unwavering support of the PDP national leader, the President of the 8th Senate, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who he said has remained committed to strengthening the party at the state and national levels.

Reiterating his commitment, Ajia assured party faithful that he would continue to work with other stakeholders to ensure the PDP emerges stronger and victorious in 2027, urging the people of Kwara State to embrace the PDP as the credible alternative .
