While welcoming the decampees, the Vice President said, “It gladens my heart to see this day. I’m pleased that good governance is at play in Kogi state. This is a new chapter in the life of APC in Kogi state and entire Nigeria. I am particularly delighted to recieve an elder statesman Capt Wada, we are the confluence of progressive together.

What is happening in APC is more of a coalition of who is who in Kogi state and Nigeria. You have joined the family that bring peace and progress to people of Nigeria. And you will not regret coming into the progressive.

“I am going back to Abuja to deliver the message to Mr President, the message from the Confluence state today is that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu victory in 2027 is total.

“I want to appreciate people of Kogi state for speaking with one one voice”

In a very brief but colorful ceremony, all the decampees led by ex-gov Idris Wada received their APC flag one after the other.

Governor Ahmed Ododo who introduced the new APC Members to the Vice President, said they were good leaders who would also contribute positively to the further growth of the party.

Governor Ododo said the formal declaration of the new party Members has shown that Kogi State belongs to the APC.

He also said President Tinubu had demonstrated his love for the development of Kogi state by the various Federal Government projects being executed in the state.

There are so many reasons why I joined APC, one the party is a progressive one, secondly, Tinubu himself has a very good vision for the country. Mr President did right by removing oil subsidy, since then we see drop in price of food stuff daily. The naira has appreciate against the dollars, the economy generally has picked up, the president has taken the country out of distressed economy.

“The dividend of democracy by Mr President are numerous, but with these few reasons, we are taking the bold step to cross over to APC today. We have to unite with Mr President to ensure his victory in 2027.

So, on behalf of all the decampees, I welcome and accept all the decampees. It is good to be among the progressives

Ajia, who holds the traditional titles of Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, particularly felicitated with the Chairman of APC in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, on his reaffirmation to lead the party for another term alongside other members of the State Executive Committee.

In a statement signed by his Director of Communications, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan, on Wednesday and made available to journalists in Abuja, Ajia described the peaceful and hitch-free congress as a reflection of unity, maturity, and strong internal democracy within the party.

He also congratulated the newly affirmed Local Government and Ward Excos . He extended same to all executives party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and the teeming members of the party across the 16 local government areas of the state for ensuring that the exercise was conducted successfully.

Ajia further commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for providing purposeful leadership and an enabling political atmosphere that contributed to the peaceful outcome of the congress.

According to him, the reaffirmation of the party leadership demonstrates the confidence party members have in the current executives and their commitment to sustaining unity, progress, and good governance in the state.

Ajia, the Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, was received during a familiarisation visit to Mogaji Ngeri Ward where he was presented with the party’s broom symbol by the ward chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Muritala Oforo, at the Gegele ward secretariat amid cheers from party faithful and supporters.

Among those present at the reception were the Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Hon. Shehu Abdulrahman Babatunde Ladan; Senior Special Assistant (Political), Hon. Suleiman Aremu Saikai; women leader Hajia Bukola Galadima; youth leaders Abdulwahab Abaya and other stakeholders who welcomed him into the party fold.

Stakeholders at the gathering described his entry as a significant political gain, noting that his grassroots network and national connections would broaden the party’s reach and alter local political dynamics, especially following his exit from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Speaking after his registration, Ajia expressed appreciation to party leaders and supporters for the warm reception, stating that his decision followed months of consultations, prayers and consensus among his supporters and community leaders.

He explained that the move was guided by patriotism and the desire to contribute to unity and stability at both state and national levels.

Drawing from his academic research and experience in the Nigeria Police Force, which he left in 2017, Ajia said insecurity cannot be solved through force alone, emphasising that cooperation between communities and security agencies, intelligence sharing and citizen participation remain essential to preventing violence.

The event brought together key party figures, state chairmen, and additional stakeholders from across the six Southwest states, highlighting the party’s commitment to inclusive representation and grassroots engagement.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by prominent party leaders, including the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. State chairmen from Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo presented comprehensive reports on the party’s structure, penetration, and preparedness in their respective states.

The briefing began with Hon. Ilesanmi Omolayo, the Ekiti State ADC Chairman, and concluded with Hon. Ashiru George from Lagos, collectively delivering reassuring accounts that underscored the ADC’s growing organizational stability and readiness for upcoming political activities.
