Anambra Guber: Oga Ndi Oga Promises To Make Anambra State Hub For Film Makers

Obiora Agbasimelo a.k.a Oga Ndi Oga has promised to address the plight of the downtrodden in the society, promising to make Anambra state a hub for film makers.

It was like a carnival as some Nollywood actors converged on Anambra State to honour him for his immense support to the film industry as he flagged-off his campaign to become the first citizen of the state.

The multi-millionaire technocrat cum philanthropist, Obiora Agbasimalo and President, Oga Ndi Oga Solidarity Movement is vying for the governorship of Anambra State under the auspices of Labour Party as he flagged off his campaign at Akwa on Saturday, 14th August, 2021.

Among those present at the grand breaking flag-off campaign of Labour Party were Destiny Etiko, Chiwetalu Agu, Chinyere Wilfred, Nkechi Nweje, Steve Eboh, Chidi Ihezie Okafor, Chinedu Ikedieze, Mc Smith Ochendo, Uju Okoli amongst others.

Informavores! gathered that Oga Ndi Oga through his foundation, he has unveiled multi-million naira revolving interest free loan for traders, artisans, small and medium scale business owners.

Aside from Empowering Women and Youths in Nigeria, Obiora Agbasimelo has also helped build Community roads, awarded educational and vocational skills scholarships.

In addition, he takes care of medical bills for so many Nigerians with critical health issues, as well as initiating several poverty alleviation programmes to address the plight of widows and families.

Nollywood Produces 541 Movies in 2022 First Quarter – NFVCB

Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, Executive Director/CEO, National Film and Video Censors Board(NFVCB), says the board received and censored a total number of 541 movies produced by the Nigerian film industry in the first quarter of the year 2022.

He made this known in a statement in Abuja on Friday.

According to him, the figure was made available by the Department of Film Censorship and Classification of the board in its First Quarter Report for the year, which captured all films submitted to the board from across the country.

The report is for onward submission to the relevant Federal Government authority for the compilation of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter (GDP) Q1, 2022.

The first quarter report indicates a sharp increase in the number of movies produced from 382 in the last quarter of 2021 to 541, representing 42 percent increase.

“We are happy that the industry is beginning the year on a good note as indicated in the increase in the numbers of films that the board received for censorship and approval in the first quarter.

“There is no doubt that our film industry is a key contributor to national economy as the films being produced is a clearly reflection of the direct and indirect jobs the sector is creating.

“NFVCB as Federal Government agency is committed to providing enabling environment for filmmakers, we therefore urge them cooperate with us my ensuring that they submit their films for classification”, he said

According to the statement, Lagos State has the highest number of movies produced for the period with 179, while Abuja followed with 164 movies and Onitsha is behind with 121 movies.

The analysis by censorship location further shows that Kano has 42, while Port Harcourt is 26, as Jos and Benin recorded six and three movies respectively for the period under review.

NFVCB is a Federal Government body that regulates the films and video industry in Nigeria. The Board is empowered by law to classify all films and videos whether imported or produced locally.

It is also the duty of the Board to register all films and videos outlet across the country and to keep a register of such registered outlets among other functions.

An heated argument that ensued between Cross and Nini broke him down in tears after Nini, a fellow housemate called him a dumb person.

This argument ensued between the housemates on wed Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemate, on Wednesday morning after a prior argument between the both housemates in the bathroom which escalated into them throwing insults at each other.

Nini said Cross is a dumb person who she just tries to be cool with just to massage his ego.

Angel intervened afterwards by consoling Cross, stating that Nini didn’t say all she said intentionally.  “I’m sure Nini didn’t mean all she said, I’m sure she didn’t mean all that. “You’re smart and your brain is not small,” Angel told Cross.

Nollywood star Mercy Johnson almost shades tears in a video expressing her gratitude to her fans for the show of love and support to her brand.
 
this came shortly after she was named google most searched star and recognized as one of the 100 most influential African women among the likes of Aisha Yusuf, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and so many others. 
 
“I just wanted to say thank you so much to 11 million of you. You guys rock, you guys push my brand forward every step of the day.
