Yobe Police Nab Killer Step-mother Of 3 Children

The Yobe State police command has confirmed the arrest of a 22-year-old stepmother, Khadija Yakubu, that allegedly poisoned four children belonging to her husband in Potiskum town, Potiskum local government of Yobe state. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

According to the press statement by ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer Yobe State Command that confirmed the incident, the suspect is already in police net.

The statement further added that preliminary findings revealed that, the children were rushed to a hospital after taking tea prepared by the said suspect in the early hours of Friday at about 0900hrs, 17 Sep, 2021, but three of the victims died while receiving treatments and one remained unconscious.

The victims are: Ahmed Alhaji Haruna, aged 9, Umar Alhaji Haruna, aged 12, Maryam Alhaji Haruna, aged 11 and Zainab Alhaji Haruna, aged 7.

Dungus said, “so far an Investigations has been launched by the police to unfold the elements of the case for subsequent prosecution”.

Adding that, “three of the victims died while undergoing medical examination, the remaining one still unconscious at the time of filing this report”.

Informavores gathered that the incident happened in Makara Huta community of Potiskum town when the deceased took a poisoned tea allegedly prepared by their stepmother.
