He said that the initiative was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).

“This is part of our effort to give back to the communities; LG Electronics has over the years continued to receive commendation from consumers for having their interest at heart by providing cutting edge technological products.
“The three operational centres have been able to cater for over 24,000 families and washed over 300,000 clothes. This is significant for us as a socially responsive company.
“The wash centre that we are opening here in Benin City today, has the capacity to wash 500 sets of clothes per day for over 40 persons,
“This we believe will go a long way in assisting the people of the state in meeting their washing needs, ” Brian said.
Brian further explained that the washing centres were operating at no cost to the end users and called on the residents of the state to take advantage of the facility.
Also speaking, Mr Hari Elluru, Head of Marketing, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, expressed the determination of the company to lead sustainability through inclusive growth in Nigeria.
Elluru said that the company was also committed to ensuring that the business community enjoyed the best advanced technologically-built electronic products.
“For us, we believe that ‘Life is Good’ when we share with others. We have remained competitive whilst improving sustainability.
“We have enabled investment and innovation required to deploy new technologies safely and responsibly develop progressive products.
“We understand that doing well is good business and so being able to launch our fourth Free Wash Centre in Benin is a social investment and we are happy to deeply go into and to stay in for as long as possible.
“This is what I truly call giving back to the society because the real beneficiaries of this project are directly the people, whom I believe will utilise it very well to make life better for themselves,” he added.
The representative of Fouani Nigeria Limited, Benin Branch Manager, Mr Hadi Hobballah, said “We are so happy to witness this state-of-the-art free wash centre by our partner, LG Electronics.
“Our customers are extremely appreciative of this kind gesture and we believe this will help them to further keep clean in a way that promotes hygienic living.”
According to Hobballah, LG Electronics is focused on strategic ways to touch lives and make life better for the people across the globe.
Hobballa further stated that the company would continue to replicate the gesture across strategic places in the country.

Oyo LG Poll: APC Confirms Readiness To Participate
The Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed readiness to participate in the forthcoming local government council election in the state.
This was disclosed by the publicity secretary of Oyo APC, Olawale Sadare, to newsmen on Saturday 29th, July 2023 in Ibadan. adsbygoogle || []).push({}); adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Sadare noted that the decision was reached at the weekend when its leadership conveyed a stakeholders meeting, where majority opinion was in support of the party fielding candidates for the council poll.
“The unanimous decision at the stakeholder meeting held at our state secretariat was that we would participate in the election with a view to winning most of the available seats in the local government areas and local council development areas.
“I can assure you that by the time we are done with our final round of consultation on or before Monday, we would roll out schedule of activities since OYSIEC has written to us about the extension of the deadline for the conduct of primary which is now Aug. 31, 2023.
“We are progressives in politics and we are always ready to play our part as democrats. Don’t forget that the main duty of political parties is to field candidates in major elections.
“We have had to face serious pressure from party faithful who want to contest and serve the masses at the grassroots as council chairmen and councilors, “he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission has announced the time table for the council election slated for April 2024.
OYSEIC in the announcement also gave political parties permission to begin electioneering activities including party primaries to produce their respective chairmanship and councilorship candidates.
