Death has occurred of the Paramount Ruler of Igala Kingdom, the Attah Igala and President of Kogi State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Michael Idakwo Ameh-Oboni 11.
Announcing the demise of His Royal Majesty at the Attah Igala’s Palace, Idah on Saturday, his first son, Prince Ocholi Idakwo disclosed that his father died on Thursday at a private hospital in Abuja following an illness at the age of 72 years.
Prince Ocholi while thanking the people of the Igala Kingdom and the entire citizens of Kogi state for their prayers for the peaceful repose of his father’s soul described him as a man of wisdom whose commitment towards upholding the cultural heritage of the Igala race remained unparalleled. push({});
His Royal Majesty was until his death, the Present of Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers
He graduated from Kaduna Polytechnic where he studied Estate Management
He worked as an Estate Management Officer with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and rose through ranks to retire as a Deputy Director in the year 2000.
He was appointed as the Attah Igala and President of Kogi State Council of Chiefs in 2013 after the demise of the former Attah Igala, Alhaji Aliyu Obaje, who died in July 2012.
