NDE Trains 1,050 Unemployed Youths in Kogi
The Kogi State Office of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), has commenced the recruitment and training of 1,050 unemployed youths under her vocational development programme to enable them acquire skills in their choice trades for self-reliant.
Addressing Newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, the state coordinator of NDE, Mall. Zakari Abubakar said that 50 unemployed youths will be recruited in each of the 21 LGAs of Kogi State for the programme.
He told journalists that the beneficiaries would be trained on vocational trades like Hairdressing, Fashion and Design, GSM repairs, Aluminum Fabrication and Computer Appreciation for a period of 3 months.
Abubakar also disclosed that during the period of their training, the trainees will be paid monthly stipends while the master tradesmen, who they will be attached to, will also be paid allowances. adsbygoogle || []).push({});
According to him, the programme is running simultaneously across the nation.
He reiterated the burning desire of the Director General of NDE, Dr. Nasiru Ladan Arugungu to create jobs for the teaming unemployed youth in fulfillment of the mandate of NDE and quest to actualize one of the objectives of the administration of President Muhammed Buhari.
He enjoined unemployed youths to avail themselves of the opportunity to be gainfully employed by registering immediately at designated offices in their local government secretariats where officials of the directorate will be available to conduct the exercise.
