Benue Action Committee Intercepts Corpse of COVID-19 Victim

The dead body of one Mr. Peter Aiv Kogi, who is suspected to have died of Coronavirus in Kano and was been conveyed for burial in Konshisha was on Thursday evening intercepted at Jato Daura near Aliade, along Makurdi -Aliade road by the Action Committee on Covid-19 in Benue state.

DAILY ASSET gathered that the Committee had a tip-off that the corpse of the late Kogi who died of the virus in Kano was in transit for burial somewhere in Konshisha local government area in Benue contrary to the laid down protocol of handling persons who have died of the virus.

Against this backdrop, the committee quickly swung into Action and activated it’s local council committees of Gwer and Konshisha LGAs, where the said corpse was to be buried to be on the watch out and help in tracking the vehicle conveying it. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

The effort of the committee, however, did not go in vain when they were able to arrest the vehicle at Jato Daura, a satellite town near Aliade and got hold of all those involved in conveying the corpse.

Those who were found conveying the corpse, therefore, are to be quarantined, while the corpse will be disposed inline with specifications of NCDC protocols of burying bodies of victims of the virus.
