NOA calls on Nigerians for responsible Easter celebration amid COVID-19 pandemic

The National Orientation Agency, NOA has call on every Nigerians to observe the Easter Celebration responsibly amid the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.

In a chat with Informavores, the special Assistant to the Director General, National Orientation Agency, NOA Mr David Akoji made this admonition.

Mr Akoji said that, “NOA is admonishing members of the public to observe this Easter celebration responsibly while observing the physical distancing policy in addition to the hygiene measures of regular hand washing under running water, coughing into our inner elbow, avoiding handshakes and hugs, disregard fake news and get correct information only from authorised sources as led by the Presidential Task Force on COVID 19, avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

“Members of the public are also advised to regularly use hand sanitizers if they must go out, and there is no provision for, should wash their hands with soap under running water.

“The National Orientation Agency wishes all Christians across the country a reflective and Joyous Easter celebration.”

Easter celebration, a Christianfestivalinspring marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Sunday following the full moon on or after March 21, see large gathering of Christian faithful.

As COVID-19 continues to spread globally and as there is no cure and vaccine for the Virus yet, Authorities in Nigeria express fear that managing the pandemic may become expensive if there is massive community transmission in the country. COVID-19 has continued to ravage the entire world and cases in Nigeria is expected to rise with 318 confirmed cases in 20 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT. Nigeria has recorded 70 recoveries and 10 deaths.
