“This monumental fraud calls for an emergency to be declared on NDDC

“The anti-graft agencies should call for questionings of all former chief executives and officers of the Commission with a view to punishing those found wanting, including their collaborators in the civil service and elsewhere.

The group further lauded the appointment of former Governor Obong Godswill Akpabio and Chief. Sen. Tayo Alasoadura as Minister and Minister of State respectively for the Ministry of the Niger Delta Affairs.

It posited that the appointment of the two leaders at the helms of affairs in the ministry are not just timely, but round peg in round holes to salvage the industry. The statement added that the mandate given by the President to the two leaders will further help bring total transformation into the interventionist agency.

The Ilaje leaders emphasized that the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC under the supervision of former Governor Akpabio was not opposed to forming a new governing board, but to ensure the successful outcome of the forensic auditing of the commission as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR). “Sen. Tayo Alasoadura could turn around the offshore operations in Nigeria when he was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) the (PIB) was passed into law
