Ajia Congratulates Kwara APC Exco , Gov. AbdulRaham Others Over Successful State Congress

A prominent statesman, security expert , philanthropist, and Steward of the APC Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, Ph.D, has congratulated the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State following the successful and peaceful conduct of the party’s state congress.

Ajia, who holds the traditional titles of Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, particularly felicitated with the Chairman of APC in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, on his reaffirmation to lead the party for another term alongside other members of the State Executive Committee.
In a statement signed by his Director of Communications, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan, on Wednesday and made available to journalists in Abuja, Ajia described the peaceful and hitch-free congress as a reflection of unity, maturity, and strong internal democracy within the party.
He also congratulated the newly affirmed Local Government and Ward Excos . He extended same to all executives party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and the teeming members of the party across the 16 local government areas of the state for ensuring that the exercise was conducted successfully.
Ajia further commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for providing purposeful leadership and an enabling political atmosphere that contributed to the peaceful outcome of the congress.
According to him, the reaffirmation of the party leadership demonstrates the confidence party members have in the current executives and their commitment to sustaining unity, progress, and good governance in the state.
“The peaceful conduct of the APC State Congress in Kwara State speaks volumes about the political maturity of the party’s leadership and members. It is also a sign of the confidence reposed in the current executives,” Ajia stated.
He urged the newly reaffirmed leadership to remain focused, inclusive, and committed to strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements while continuing to support the developmental vision of the state government.
Ajia prayed for wisdom, unity, and divine guidance for the chairman, the secretary, the entire executive committee, and all party stakeholders throughout their renewed tenure.
He also expressed optimism that the APC in Kwara State would continue to grow stronger and remain a model of stability and progress in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

Kwara Political Landscape Shifts as Ajia Joins APC

The political landscape in Ilorin witnessed a notable shift on Monday as businessman and political figure, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, formally joined the All Progressives Congress, a development party leaders described as capable of reshaping grassroots mobilisation and strengthening the ruling party’s influence in the state.

Ajia, the Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, was received during a familiarisation visit to Mogaji Ngeri Ward where he was presented with the party’s broom symbol by the ward chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Muritala Oforo, at the Gegele ward secretariat amid cheers from party faithful and supporters.
Among those present at the reception were the Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Hon. Shehu Abdulrahman Babatunde Ladan; Senior Special Assistant (Political), Hon. Suleiman Aremu Saikai; women leader Hajia Bukola Galadima; youth leaders Abdulwahab Abaya and other stakeholders who welcomed him into the party fold.
Stakeholders at the gathering described his entry as a significant political gain, noting that his grassroots network and national connections would broaden the party’s reach and alter local political dynamics, especially following his exit from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking after his registration, Ajia expressed appreciation to party leaders and supporters for the warm reception, stating that his decision followed months of consultations, prayers and consensus among his supporters and community leaders.
He explained that the move was guided by patriotism and the desire to contribute to unity and stability at both state and national levels.
Drawing from his academic research and experience in the Nigeria Police Force, which he left in 2017, Ajia said insecurity cannot be solved through force alone, emphasising that cooperation between communities and security agencies, intelligence sharing and citizen participation remain essential to preventing violence.
He also expressed confidence in the security direction of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the leadership role of Christopher Musa while stressing that national strategies must be complemented by grassroots engagement.
Ajia assured party leaders that his entry into the party would go beyond symbolism, pledging to mobilise communities, promote civic participation and connect Kwara more closely to the centre of governance.
According to him, his involvement would mark the beginning of a stronger federal presence in the state through collaboration, development engagement and support for government programmes.
He further dismissed suggestions of personal political ambition, maintaining that his involvement in politics is driven by service and national interest.
He urged citizens to support ongoing reforms and prioritise unity, noting that policy changes often produce temporary hardship before long-term stability.
Party supporters expressed optimism that his background in security and community engagement would strengthen party structures and public trust in governance, while Ajia reaffirmed his commitment to work with government at all levels to promote peace, stability and improved living conditions for citizens.

ADC Inaugurates Southwest Zonal Working Committee in Ibadan, Reaffirms Party Strength and Unity

In a significant move to boost its regional structure and foster greater coordination, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Tuesday inaugurated its Southwest Zonal Working Committee during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Kakanfo Inn, Off Ring Road, Ibadan.

The event brought together key party figures, state chairmen, and additional stakeholders from across the six Southwest states, highlighting the party’s commitment to inclusive representation and grassroots engagement.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by prominent party leaders, including the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. State chairmen from Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo presented comprehensive reports on the party’s structure, penetration, and preparedness in their respective states.
The briefing began with Hon. Ilesanmi Omolayo, the Ekiti State ADC Chairman, and concluded with Hon. Ashiru George from Lagos, collectively delivering reassuring accounts that underscored the ADC’s growing organizational stability and readiness for upcoming political activities.
In his address, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola charged all elected party officials and stakeholders to remain committed to strengthening the ADC in the Southwest and across Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and effective coordination as key pillars for building a formidable party capable of offering Nigerians a credible, people-oriented alternative. Aregbesola also stressed the need for continuous engagement with the national leadership to ensure proper harmonization, validation, and accuracy of party officers in all states.
During the meeting, the names of Southwest officers serving at the national level were formally read and inaugurated, reaffirming the zone’s influential role within the party’s hierarchy which includes;
1). Akinbolawale Omole – National Vice Chairman (Ekiti)
2). Captain Tunji Shelle – National Director, Communication and Programmes (Lagos)
3). Professor Bode Ayorinde – Diversity and Inclusion Secretary (Ondo)
4). Fabiyi Oladimeji – Deputy National Financial Secretary (Ogun)
5). Alhaja Khafilat Omolabake Olayiwola – Deputy National Women Leader (Oyo)
6). Olufemi Adeleye – Deputy Coordinator, Diaspora (Ekiti)
7). Mrs. Yidiat Omolara Oseni – Assistant National Organising Secretary (Osun)
Additionally, the newly appointed members of the Southwest Zonal Working Committee were introduced, further enhancing the party’s zonal framework. These zonal appointments include;
8). Assistant National Secretary: Architect Basiru Aremu Lawal
9). Assistant National Woman Leader Zonal: Lady Lydia Omarisola Olafunmiloye (Ondo)
10). Assistant National Youth Leader Zonal: Mrs. Elizabeth Adeola Olusi (Lagos)
Party leaders expressed optimism about the committee’s potential to improve leadership efficiency, promote democratic ideals, and drive regional development initiatives. The ADC remains resolute in its mission to deepen democratic values, strengthen internal structures, and position itself as a viable force for national development.
