Kogi Political Leaders, Citizens Endorse Tinubu, Ododo for Reelection

Political Leaders and citizens of Kogi State on Saturday, converged in their large numbers in Lokoja, the state capital, to endorse President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for second term in office. adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Political office holders and residents at the epoc making event passed vote of confidence on both the President and the state Governor ,citing their current achievements in office and leadership qualities for the endorsement.

Notable political leaders in the state who passed the vote of confidence included former Senator, Smart Adeyemi, former Governor , Yahaya Bello and the incumbent Governor, Ahmed Ododo.

Others included Deputy Governor Joel Oyibo, Speaker state house of Assembly, Umaru Aliyu , former Speaker Mathew Kolawole and the APC state Chairman, Abdullahi Bello.

The Muhammadu Buhari Square was filled to the brim with attendees from all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Square was adorned with banners and posters containing various messages urging President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in their ambition to secure second term in office.

The messages included ” Kogi stands for Tinubu, ” Re- elect Tinubu /Ododo 2027″; Let’s do it again , Tinubu /Ododo 2027″ and OAU , Kogi stand for Tinubu

Attendees also lightened up the Square with various songs eulogising both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.

Former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Smart Adeyemi , in his remarks at the event, said President Tinubu meant well for Nigeria and would further develop the country to the level that it would be envy of other countries in terms of infrastructural development.

Adeyemi said ” I have known President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for more than 30 years and he is a committed Democrat. From AD to Action Congress to ACN to APC , President Tinubu is a committed Democrat. He means well for Nigeria. He is after giving Nigerians better standard of living.

” Governor Ododo is also doing well as all his programmes are geared towards developing kogi state better.We should shine our eyes and support the two of them for the second term in office.”

Former Governor Yahaya Bello who also spoke at the event, specifically lauded President Tinubu and late Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu for nurturing the APC in the state and for the current structural development in the state.

Bello also requested for two minutes silence in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Prince Audu as well the APC foot soldiers and supporters who died in the course of building the party.

Governor Ododo while thanking attendees for their large turnout for the endorsement , urged them to translate this to the APC victory across Nigeria in the next general election.
