APC Chieftain Tasks Citizens on Projects Monitoring
From Joseph Amedu, Lokoja
In order to put public office occupiers on their toes and more responsive, well-meaning individuals, groups, and other critical stakeholders have been counselled to embark on regular inspection of ongoing government projects located in their communities and to give updates on community needs to the government. js"> [adrotate banner="51"]
An economist and secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the United Kingdom, Momoh Yusuf Obaro made the call in Okene at the weekend when he visited projects of the state government in the Central senatorial district of Kogi State. Noting that charity begins at home, he said the initiative has helped him to appreciate the efforts of the government to improve the standard of living of the citizenry.
While explaining the rationale behind the visit, the development expert said it was based on the need to get first-hand information on the massive road construction going on in the area. He said he was excited by what he discovered, adding that “seeing is believing.”
Obaro called on people of the zone not to relent in their unflinching support for the administration. A total 122 road projects covering more than 250 kilometres, including the colonial Eyeigoda and Okaiteba bridges on the Okaito-Osuwe-Obagede road, Okehi LG were in different stages of completion in the area.
“Our discoveries have been phenomenal. This is quite different from social media trends, some of which emanate from toxic politics. We have seen a lot of roads being reconstructed, and many new ones are being opened up. About 122 roads with an average of about 60% to 70% completion rate in less than two years in office is massive.
“For instance, this is my ancesral community, and just at the other side of where I’m standing now is our former bridge constructed by colonial masters more than 60 years ago. We have suffered a lot from this bridge and unsuccessfully begged past administrations to help us. Today, it is a reality courtesy of this administration. This is very special to us and actually gives us life. We are grateful for this.
Roads are very fundamental to development. When you talk about economic activities, they are dependent on good roads.
“This road is going to accelerate and transform the economic activities of this area. That is the way to eradicate or reduce poverty. When economic activities pick up, poverty will automatically reduce. Our people are happy with the efforts of the government to make life easy.”
The APC stalwart admonished communities with one need or the other to reach out to the government with their requests rather than taking the law into their hands. He also advised the governor to stay focused on continuing the transformation agenda of the APC as bequeathed by his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Kogi Central APC Stakeholders Kick Against Imposition of Unpopular Candidate Endorse Obaro
By AbdulRahman Obaje
The Kogi Central All Progressive Congress APC, has endorsed Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro, kicking against imposition of any unpopular candidate.
In a statement widely circulated and received by Informavores Nigeria Newspaper, the statement read that the, “the collective body of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi Central Senatorial District—comprising youths, women leaders, and respected traditional rulers—has unanimously endorsed Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro as the preferred candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections. [adrotate banner="51"]
In a strongly worded statement issued on Saturday, April 18, the group described Chief Obaro as a loyal party stalwart, a grassroots mobilizer, and a man of proven integrity who has remained consistent in his commitment to the growth and unity of the APC in Kogi Central and beyond.
According to the stakeholders, the endorsement of Chief Obaro is a reflection of the collective will of the people, borne out of extensive consultations across the five local government areas in the district. They emphasized that his candidacy represents fairness, inclusivity, and the genuine aspirations of party members who have long yearned for credible and people-oriented representation.
The group, however, raised serious concerns over what it described as subtle moves by certain interests to impose an unpopular candidate on the people, warning that such actions could have grave consequences for the party’s fortunes in the district and the state at large.
“We call on the national leadership of our great party and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to intervene decisively to protect the democratic values of the APC in Kogi Central. The era of imposition must give way to the will of the people,” the statement read.
The stakeholders further cautioned that any attempt to sideline the popular choice of the people may trigger widespread disaffection, voter apathy, and protest votes that could undermine not only the senatorial election but also the overall electoral strength of the party in 2027.
“Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro is our consensus choice. He embodies the trust, capacity, and connection required to deliver quality representation. Any attempt to impose an unpopular candidate will be resisted democratically by the people, even if it means casting protest votes,” the group declared.
Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC, the stakeholders urged party leaders at all levels to prioritize unity, fairness, and internal democracy as key pillars for sustaining electoral success.
They concluded by calling on all party members and supporters in Kogi Central to remain vigilant, united, and committed to the collective goal of ensuring credible representation and the continued progress of the party.
