Oshiomhole assured the rewards of consistency and hardworking of their members from the National Assembly and assured them their efforts will not be in vain.
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has admonished all APC members in the House of Representatives and the Senate to reconvene the parliament by all legal means.
Oshiomhole made this appeal shortly after a meeting between the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and its federal lawmakers in Abuja.
He urged the party members to do everything legally possible to get the National Assembly reconvened so that these national issues would be deliberated upon and appropriate decisions reached.
Following the meeting conveyed by the ruling political party at Ladi Kwalli hall of Sheraton on Tuesday, the NWC of the All Progressives Congress and it’s members from National Assembly were conveyed to fashion the way forward regarding the National interest and as well as their party.
The National Chairman of All Progressive Congress Comrade Adams Oshiomhole acknowledge the loyalty of the members who stand with the party from the National Assembly and urged them not to relent in their efforts.
The Senator representing Lagos East, Senator Olugbenga Ashafa while speaking to journalists, said “we need to reconvene and address the necessary National issues for the progress of this country”, urging his colleagues to consider the Nation Nigeria first before their political affiliations.
Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawal, also appeal to the leadership of the National Assembly to reconvene the Senate, House of Assembly to address the necessary issues like foreign loan to finance the 2018 budget and approve the INEC budget for the successful conduct of 2019 general elections.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara,had said that a date has not been set for the reconvening of the Senate and the House of Representatives to consider the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) 2019 elections budget request forwarded by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 17, 2018.
